Bijak Malaysia Convention awards participating banks

KUCHING: Bijak Malaysia, a regular premium whole life insurance plan that guarantees triennial cash payments and maturity benefits with affordable monthly premium provides the much needed but often overlooked life insurance protection to Malaysians.

According to the chairman of Bijak Malaysia and the National Insurance Association of Malaysia (NIAM) exco member, Raymond Lew in a press release, “Bijak Malaysia, a product designed by Malaysian-owned life insurance companies under NIAM and distributed via the Bancassurance channel of participating banks offers four different monthly premium packages starting from RM100.”

“Being distributed through the Bancassurance channel of participating banks has made Bijak Malaysia more reachable to all Malaysians as Bijak Malaysia only requires the policyholder to fill up a simple application form that comes with a simple health declaration form,” added the press release.

The Third Bijak Malaysia Convention was attended by 280 participants, making it the biggest ever convention that NIAM has organised in terms of attendance. The participants comprised of delegates from various major banks in Malaysia.

NIAM chairman, C Kumaran said, “The convention is organised with the objectives of recognising the achievements of the sales staff from participating banks and for the delegates to share their best practices and success stories.”

The press release listed Maybank Bhd as the top bank with a total sale of RM22.6million, Etiqa Insurance Bhd won the award for the top company. Individual awards were also handed out during the convention by Kumaran and Lew.

NIAM or Persatuan Insurance Kebangsaan Malaysia was established in 1973 and registered under the Societies Act 1966 to  promote and safeguard the interests of members in all their activities amongst other responsibilities.
