KUCHING: Working adults looking to obtain executive diplomas from Universiti Malaya Center for Continuing Education (UMCCED) need not travel to West Malaysia as they can take up the programmes locally.
This was made possible with collaboration between UMCCED and Yes Education Alliance and its first intake will be this November.
According to Yes Education Alliance programme development manager Felix Joe Win Josos, the three programmes offered are Executive Diploma in Manufacturing Management, Human Resource Management and Business Management.
“The executive diplomas are for working adults to improve and upgrade their skills, enhance knowledge and verify their skills as we are really concerned about the job market situation today,” said Felix.
“This is an opportunity for those who want to upgrade themselves and show their skills and experiences on a piece of certificate to reflect their knowledge and enhance their professionalism.”
The Business Management programme is designed to train any industry professionals to become proficient in the basic rudiments of management. It is also for those who wish to improve their cognitive professional and personal competencies on how to escalate efficiency and effectiveness in business operations and management.
The aim of the Manufacturing Management programme is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of manufacturing management and to equip them with a strong base for onward career progression and development.
The Human Resource Management programme is designed to introduce concepts and practices essential to human resource management and provide an opportunity to study and discuss current issues and areas of specialisation important to the human resource function in business and industry.
All programmes are of 13 months’ duration on a part-time basis for working adults. Classes are held on weekends. November intake is in progress.
The minimum requirement is one year working experience and students are taught one module a month with a project paper as the final module.
