1 dead, 4 missing, 100,000 advised to evacuate ahead of typhoon Nesat

MANILA: Disaster officials reported Tuesday that one dead and four other people missing as Philippines continues to brace for typhoon Pedring (internationally named Nesat), Xinhua News said.

Executive director Benito Ramos of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Tuesday the killed was a one- year-old baby who fell into a creek in Cabugao, Bato Catanduanes province.

At the same time, Ramos reported that around 45 fishermen have been rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard in the Bicol region.

Earlier, the NDRRMC ordered the evacuation of 100,000 people amid the coming of typhoon Pedring.
