SERIAN: St Theresa’s Parish Council held a farewell dinner on Sunday for Fr Paul Herry, who will leave for further study in Rome tomorrow.
Paul thanked Archbishop John Ha for giving him the opportunity, which will enable him to serve the people with better knowledge and skill.
He called on more youths to answer the call for religious professions.
“I really enjoyed my living in Serian Parish with so many good and kind-hearted parishioners and friends especially members of the lay organisations of the parish,” he said.
Paul from Kampung Mapu, Mongkos was ordained priest on July 5, 2003 at St Joseph’s Cathedral, Kuching.
Thereafter, he served in Bau and Sri Aman before being attached to the Serian Parish from August 2008.
He was in charge of the youth ministry, as well as spiritual advisor to other lay organisations in the parish.
