King presents awards to 264

PUTRAJAYA: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin yesterday presented awards to 264 people, who had been bestowed honours in conjunction with his birthday in June, at the Istana Melawati here.

Six people received the Panglima Jasa Negara award which carries the title ‘Datuk’. They are Advisor, Government Procurement, Ministry of Finance, Datuk Zalekha Hassan; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Ministry of Defence, Lt Gen Datuk Abdul Hadi Hussin; Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Assoc Prof Datuk Dr Bashir Ahmad Fateh Mohamed; Senior Consultant Pathologist, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM), Professor Datuk Dr Looi Lai Meng; member of Gurun (Kedah) MCA Datuk Ng Ah Chua and lawyer Datuk Ng Bee Ken.

Five people received the Johan Mangku Negara award. They are Sarawak Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Assistant Minister of Tourism, Mong  Dagang; Medical Director, KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital, Dr Mohd Hafetz Ahmad; Special Officer to Umno Deputy President, Mohd Nardin Awang; Chief Information Technology and Transformation Officer, Celcom, Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin and member of Muar Municipal Council, Johor, Wee Chong Yan.

Seven people received the Johan Setia Mahkota, one person the Johan Setia Diraja, 69 the Kesatria Mangku Negara and six the Kesatria Setia Diraja.

Seventy-nine people received the Ahli Mangku Negara award, and among them was Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) assistant editor Hafizah Kamaruddin.

Ninety-one people received the Pingat Pangkuan Negara. — Bernama
