Police looking for suspect who pointed gun at DPP

KUALA TERENGGANU: Police are looking for a man said to have pointed a gun at a deputy public prosecutor (DPP) in an incident at a traffic light at Jalan Sultan Ismail here last Sunday.

Terengganu police chief, Datuk Jamshah Mustapa, said the police had identified the suspect and were confident of making an arrest soon.

“We believe the suspect was trying to give a warning to the DPP over some of the cases she was handling, including a few high profile cases which involve the death sentence,” he told a media conference here yesterday.

In the Sunday incident, deputy public prosecutor Zalina Awang, 39, had stopped her car at the traffic light when an unknown person pointed a gun at her.
