SBEU lauds call for higher retirement age

KUCHING: Sarawak Bank Employees’ Union (SBEU) has welcomed  the call to extend minimum retirement age for the private sector from 55 to 60.

Its chief executive officer Andrew Lo said the union endorsed the extension and introduction of a minimum wage without delay at the three-day 17th Triennial Delegates’ Conference in Bintulu beginning Sept 22.

He said the two issues were among five resolutions adopted at the conference.

“Our stand is, it should be RM900 minimum wage for Sarawak,” he said in a statement.

On RHB Bank takeover proposal, Lo said it should be in the interest of both parties. — Bernama
