PUTRAJAYA: Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang ended his three-day official trip to Malaysia today with a visit to Putrajaya Corporation here.

He arrived at about 10am, accompanied by his wife Mai Thi Hanh and a delegation which included Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Nguyen Hong Thao and Malaysian Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, who was the minister-in-attendance.

Sang was briefed by Putrajaya Corporation City Planning Department director Omairi Hashim on the development plans for the federal government’s administrative centre.

Later, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad paid a courtesy call on Sang and his wife.

Also at the meeting were Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and Kong.

Sang and his wife flew off from the KL International Airport at 12.45pm.

Sang, who became president in July, had made the visit to Malaysia to reciprocate a visit by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Ag ong Tuanku Nur Zahirah to Vietnam in March 2009. — Bernama
