MIRI: Imperial Hotel recently started a campaign to raise funds for the Mental Health Association of Sarawak, Miri branch.

Hotel spokesperson Ikhwan Drahim who is also chairman of Imperial Hotel’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Osha) said the campaign was in conjunction with Osha Week at the hotel.

“This charity campaign is conducted by our Osha committee. Thus, we are going to place some donation boxes at several strategic points of the hotel,” he said when contacted by The Borneo Post yesterday.

Ikhwan called members of the public, especially their customers to support the campaign.

“Your support through generous donation is meaningful to us. It is because we are going to use the money donated to purchase safety equipment for the Mental Health Association of Sarawak, Miri branch,” he said.

“There is no target amount set in the fundraising as we believe the people are generous enough to support charity-based project for a good cause,” he remarked.

Meanwhile Osha Week which ends on Oct 15 aims to increase awareness on the importance of safety among hotel staff and customers.
