KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting scheduled tomorrow is likely to discuss the six months suspension meted out to two of its state assemblymen, according to party insiders.

Bentayan assemblyman Gwee Tiong Hiang and Kota Alam Shah assemblyman M Manoharan were suspended by the party’s disciplinary committee for two separate offences.

Gwee and two members from the Bakri division were suspended for alleged improprieties in managing party funds while Manoharan over remark he made on the national flag.

When contacted by Bernama, Gwee and Manohaan confirmed that they had appealed their suspension to the CEC.

DAP deputy secretary-general Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham confirmed that the CEC would hold its monthly meeting this Friday and said that since the assemblymen had filed appeals, it was likely that tomorrow’s meeting would look into them.

“If they appealed, it would come up. It is a normal process for the CEC to deliberate on it,” he told Bernama when contacted. — Bernama
