KUCHING: Two teenagers from the same village were assaulted on separate occasions at the same location in Pending on Friday by a group of suspected street robbers.

The teens, aged 16 and 19 years, had separately left their village at Kampung Bintawa Tengah between 9pm and 11pm to meet with friends when they came across the same group of men at Sungai Periuk in Pending.

According to the 19-year-old, he was riding past the area when the men blocked his path and forced him to stop his motorcycle by the roadside before demanding for his belongings.

When he refused, the men started attacking him with various objects, including a motorcycle chain, but failed to rob him as he was able to speed off on his machine.

A similar incident occurred around 11pm when the 16-year-old happened to ride past the same area and was forced to stop by the group, who also demanded for his valuables.

He, too, was attacked with a motorcycle chain after telling the men that he did not have anything of value on him, but was also lucky to escape on his motorcycle.

Both teens only learned of their similar ordeal when they encountered each other at the police station while lodging their report, and later headed to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.
