KUCHING: A mother of five, Masniah Ojek, could hardly hold back her surprise when she drove home a brand new Proton Saga FL car, for winning the grand prize of ‘Emart 2nd Anniversary Lucky Draw 2011’ yesterday.
The 47-year-old clerk of a private firm said she did not expect to win and was over the moon.
“This is the best prize I have ever won,” she told reporters yesterday.
She said she spent more than RM100 at Emart throughout the contest period from May 8 to Sept 11.
First prize of a 42-inch LG LED television and home theatre went to Hairani Kolon, while second prize of a LG refrigerator went to Suriah Modi.
Norimah Ali won third prize of a LG washing machine.
Five contestants won the special prize of a LG micro digital video disc tuner hi-fi each, while five won the consolation prize of a LG vacuum cleaner each.
According to branch manager Jap Jong Fan, the contest which required customers to spend RM100 and above, received more than 10,000 entries.
“Next year, we are going to hold the same contest to celebrate our third anniversary, with even more exciting prizes up for grab,” he said.
