Latest rankings put Sussex in the world’s top 100 universities. The Times Higher Education Supplement places Sussex 79th in its world rankings, with high rankings for its international staff and research.

National league tables have put many of its subjects in the UK’s top 10 or 20 – including business and management, engineering, media, computer sciences, politics and international relations.

The University of Sussex is located in the southeast of England, close to the vibrant city of Brighton and Hove, yet only one hour from London.

It has been voted the best ‘Place to Be’ by international students (i-graduate, autumn 2009).

If students do not meet the requirements for direct entry to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, they can take one of the preparation programmes at the University of Sussex International Study Centre (ISC).

The ISC is located in the heart of the campus and students will be part of the University from the day they start their course and will benefit from all the resources both at the ISC and at the University.

Upon successful completion of the programme and having achieved the required grades, students are assured progression to their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

In 2010, 93 per cent of Sussex ISC students who completed their studies were offered a place to study on a degree programme at the University of Sussex.

The International Foundation Year is a 3-term programme of academic study, English language training and study skills to prepare students for the first year of undergraduate study.

The International Year One is an intensive programme, equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Students can start the International Foundation Year or Year One in either September or January.

The Pre-Masters is a 6-month programme of English, study skills and academic modules to prepare you for a one-year taught Masters.
