LAHAD DATU: A Magistrate’s Court here yesterday punished a local man and a foreigner for taking Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.
In the first case, local man Imdan Abd Samad, 33, was jailed for 10 months while in the second case, foreigner Al-Frazier Halun, 35, was jailed for nine months for taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine respectively, at Kg Sungai Atas, Kunak on Sept 23, 2011. Sessuions Court judge, M Rajalingam, who sat as a magistrate, convicted the two accused under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
The judge also ordered Imdan to be placed under police supervision for two years after serving his sentence and Al-Frazier to be referred to the Immigration Department after coming out of prison.
Prosecuting officer Inspector Soffi Jalal told the court that the two accused were arrested after their urine samples tested positive for drugs.
