KUCHING: Petra Jaya MP Datuk Fadillah Yusof said he will continue to serve his party and the people even if he is not chosen as the BN candidate to defend the seat during the coming parliamentary election.

He said to him candidacy for the seat was not an issue as what was most important was for BN to win it.

“I will continue to serve Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and the people whether or not I will be re-nominated as the candidate for Petra Jaya.

“To me, most importantly BN must win,” he told reporters after launching SMK St Teresa Awards Ceremony yesterday.

The Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation said it was up to the state and federal BN chairmen to decide the candidate.

However, he said he would be ever ready to do his best if he was chosen to defend the seat.

He also explained that the party was now preparing for the election and said he had been holding meet-the-people sessions almost every week.

Fadillah won the Petra Jaya seat when he defeated Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Mohamad Jolhi in the 12th general election in 2008.
