The Malay Mail ceases publication, to be back in January

KAUA LUMPUR: The Malay Mail today announced that it is ceasing publication temporarily, promising that it will be back in January.

Its edition today was the last as a free afternoon daily and readers will have to pay a cover price of RM1 for the new Malay Mail next year.

“We feel this is a small token our readers would not mind contributing as it’ll go a little way to help this paper deliver all the news that matters to a larger audience,” its news editor, Terence Fernandez, said in a statement.

As it goes off print for the next few weeks as work progresses on getting the new product off the ground, the paper will continue to maintain a web presence.

The statement said a new website would be launched simultaneously with the launch of the new paid daily in January. – Bernama
