GEORGE TOWN: Police busted a drug processing laboratory and seized heroin worth RM4 million and arrested two women, one of them eight-month pregnant, at an apartment in Bayan Indah, Sungai Nibong, yesterday.

Penangdeputy police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said in the3pmraid, the police seized 11.6kg of heroin, heroin base (17.9kg), powdered caffeine (150kg), and drug processing equipment and ingredients.

He said the house was turned into a heroin processing laboratory and store since two months ago, and the drugs were meant for distribution in the peninsula.

“The syndicate moved from place to place to avoid police detection,” he told a news conference here yesterday.

He said the police also seized two pistols, a Baretta and a Glock, 212 live bullets, a silencer, RM199,500 cash, jewellery worth RM42,000, four luxury cars, and a motorcycle.

The two women, including the 25-year-old pregnant woman, were believed to be members of a drug syndicate. — Bernama
