KUANTAN: Pahang made a head start in deliberating on corruption in the public sector systematically with the cooperation of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said the “Overcoming Challenges and Improving State Revenue Seminar” here was aimed at finding ways to tackle corruption as well as avoiding leakages in the state’s revenue.

He said the seminar raised awareness on the need to improve the state revenue by rejecting corruption in administrative dealings.

“I notice that the MACC’s integrity in combating corruption has improved and this seminar will give further insight on symptoms of corruption, hence improving the state’s revenue,” he told reporters after closing the three-day seminar here yesterday. — Bernama
