Appreciation dinner for transferring and retiring staff

MUKAH: The sports and recreational club of Land and Survey Department (Landas) Mukah last Thursday organised an appreciation dinner for six members who are on transfer and also to bid farewell to seven others upon their mandatory retirement this year.

The six members on transfer are Moris Nayup, who will join the Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment in Kuching; Palane @ Pauline Jimmy, being transferred to Land and Survey Department (JTS) Samarahan; Garai Embol and Zakaria Mahdi to JTS Sibu; Alexson Ngumbang Jenny to JTS Miri; and Hiew Tze Ho to JTS Sarikei, while those on mandatory retirement include Zulpkipli Abdul Rahman Abdullah, Mohammad Darajak, Keran Shahwi, Wilson Nyandang Galing, Michael Merni Mun, Amin Aris and Johnny Setin. All of them were presented with a special memento each by Landas Mukah in recognition of their meaningful contributions while serving at JTS Mukah.

Held at Kingwood Resort Mukah, the dinner also saw the presentation of educational incentives to four students who achieved excellent results in their UPSR, PMR and SPM examinations. The recipients, who are children of Landas members, were Katerina Sagem Ingu who scored 5As in UPSR 2011 and her sister Juliet Orrmilla Ingu who obtained 6A’s1B in her PMR 2010; Nur Hidayah Azman who scored 8A’s in her PMR 2010; and Noel Jacques Awi who scored 10A’s in SPM 2010.

Other programmes include presentation of certificates to Landas Mukah football team that emerged first runner-up in the Liga MuFA 2011 football tournament and also to paddlers of Landas boat in the recent Sarawak Regatta held in Kuching, entertainment, cultural shows and lucky draws.

On hand to present the special mementos, educational incentives and appreciation certificates was Land and Survey Department Mukah superintendent Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, who is also chairman of Landas Mukah. Also present were two land officers – Bujang Radin and Morsidi Ashkar, organising chairman Mohd Taffazani Sibau, JTS Mukah unit heads, staff and their family members.
