BINTULU: Police here received 18 complaints during their Clients’ Day yesterday.

Among the complaints received were those related to property losses, noise pollution in residential flats, social problems (involving loitering and glue sniffing), motorcycle nuisance in residential areas, and the presence of illegal immigrants (Pati).

Bintulu police chief Superintendent Madang Usat gave an assurance that his men would act on all the complaints lodged.

“The presence of Pati will be referred to the Immigration Department, while complaints about noises in residential areas … we can only take action after midnight, but we will continue to monitor the situation.”

He said police would deal with theft of properties such as cars and motorcycles by putting police personnel in crime-prone areas.

However, he advised motorcycle owners to take preventive measures by installing additional locks.
