SELANGOR: Sendok Group, a Malaysia-based multi-faceted business conglomerate added a new milestone to its business accolades when it launched four new light commercial vehicles under the CAM brand.
Sendok Group has more than thirty affiliated companies in trading, manufacturing and rebuilt, marketing, sales and after sales as well as finance and insurance with its principal business in import-export and trading of used automobile spare parts, trucks, heavy machinery and equipment.
The launch was officiated by Senator Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai and China Auto Manufacturers (M) Sdn Bhd which carries the CAM brand that was established in 2010 as the marketing arm of Sendok Group’s new light commercial vehicles.
The four brands launched were Placer, Placer-X, Potente and Plutus. These vehicles are imported from China in CKD form and assembled locally to offer a cheaper option to the customers yet providing the same level of quality as other new light commercial vehicles in the market.
Placer comes as a fourteen-seater high roof window van, as well as a low roof panel or semi-panel van. Utilizing the Isuzu 4JB1T 2.7L Turbo Euro II engine technology, this practical and economical van has high fuel efficiency.
The fourteen-seater window van comes with safety features that include ABS as well as EBD and reverse camera sensor. This model has a gear ratio of 4.55, which gives bigger torque making it more powerful as it is able to support a higher load when going uphill.
Placer-X is known for its stylish design, capacious interior space and comfort. This luxurious high-roof window van comes in either diesel unit or petrol+CNG unit.
Suitable for both private and commercial use, Placer-X also has a super high and side sliding door allowing two persons in and out simultaneously, while its spacious interior can carry up to eighteen passengers.
The diesel unit uses a Turbo intercooler Euro III engine with high pressure common rail system.
This powerful, fuel-efficient engine which is developed using Toyota engineering technology and German BOSCH fuel supple control system was awarded China Top Ten Engines in the year 2008.
The Potente comes in two different models: JX103 and JX104. This light-duty truck that comes with power steering and adjustable steering wheel can be easily manoeuvred and operated. Jiangling Motors Co. Ltd (JMC), its principal company, was appraised as one of the “Top 100 China listed auto companies” for three successive years and in November 2007, the company was ranked as the most competitive auto company in China.
Plutus Double Cab Pick Up comes in 4×2 and 4×4 drive, with comfortable luxury sedan interior and enhanced brake system (ABS + EBD). It utilizes Isuzu’s 4JB1T Turbo Euro II Engine technology as well as a rigid durable SUV chassis, which provides its high strength. Its large 1.4m³ load compartment can hold up to 1 metric tonne providing 30% more carrying space compared to other pickups, while its longer wheelbase (3380mm) provides increased stability.
Moreover, Plutus has high durability to withstand the rugged terrain conditions hence, making it a strong and practical pick up.
Present at the launch were company chairmen Dato’ Haji Wazir Haji Muaz and Dato’ Haji Emran Haji Kadir and company directors Lau Kiat Hoot and Gwee Bok Wee.
