Wong worried about unfairness in presidential race

SIBU: SUPP presidential hopeful Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh is more concerned that the elections during the party’s triennial delegates conference are fair and just, rather than rate his chances of winning in the presidential race.

Replying to reporters at a press conference here on Sunday, Wong said he was worried by so many claims of irregularities in branch elections held recently, and that some complaints had been forwarded to ROS.

“There are already claims of ‘hands’ trying to chop off those who publicly support me from going to the party TGM and election.”

He cited the election in Kanowit as an example, saying attempts had been made to ‘kill’ members of one faction to stop them forming the branch.

In the press conference, Wong, who is also SUPP Sibu branch chief, spoke at length about the anti-BN elements that had seemingly surfaced in the party.

He was worried this would spoil the spirit of harmony and partnership within the BN, adding the six in his team had been branded the ‘Yes-men’ of the BN.

“There are also allegations that I am resorting to money politics to win the race. There are claims I am paying out RM5,000 to anyone who submit articles to the newspaper to speak against them.
