KUALA LUMPUR: United States Deputy Secretary of State William Burns is due here today for an official visit.
In a statement, the US Embassy said Burns will meet with a range of senior officials and other Malaysian opinion leaders.
“His visit reflects the US commitment to strengthening the cooperative partnership with Malaysia,” it said.
Burns is travelling on official visits to India and Southeast Asia beginning last Saturday.
Burns became the Deputy Secretary of State last July. He served as the Under Secretary for Political Affairs from 2008 prior to his current appointment. — Bernama
