GEORGE TOWN: Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has inked a cooperation pact with leading medical institution, Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS) to further expand medical knowledge to improve the standard of health of Malaysians.
USM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Omar Osman said he hoped cooperation in medical science, dentistry, biomedical and health sciences could help train and increase the number of medical experts.
“Considering AUCMS’s focus on medicine, it could be a strategic partner of USM’s Advanced Medical and Dentistry Institute to develop medical knowhow,” he said when speaking at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between USM and AUCMS here yesterday.
USM was represented by Omar while AUCMS by its vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Razak. The ceremony was also witnessed by Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, who is also AUCMS chancellor. — Bernama
