MIRI: Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services Sdn Bhd, an authorised dealer of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd opened its new 2S facility at Eastwood Industrial Estate in Kuala Baram yesterday.
The opening of the new 2S facility is part of UMW Toyota Motor’s RM1 billion investment plan for three years until 2013. The expansion also compliments UMW Toyota Motor’s effort to upgrade its sales and after-sales facilities including dealers’ outlet.
Assistant Minister of Communications Datuk Lee Kim Shin in his address at the opening yesterday said that the setting up of the 2S workshop facility was timely considering that the overall vehicle population was rising.
He said that Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) disclosed on Nov 16 that sales in October this year was 9,247 units or 21 per cent higher than in the previous month.
Lee text of speech was read by Mayor Lawrence Lai and among those present were the president of UMW Toyota Motor Ismet Suki, chairman of Mafrica Groups of Companies and chairman of Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services Sdn Bhd Datuk Tiong Thai King and executive director of Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services Sdn Bhd Tiong Chiong Yong.
Lee added: “Most vehicle manufacturers are making incremental improvements to existing technology.
“With the incorporation of sophisticated electronics control and advanced vehicle circuitries, it is possible nowadays to carry out Toyota service and repairs with state-of-the-art technology and well-trained technicians using specially designed precision tools.”
Tiong Chiong Yong, who also spoke said the decision to build the new 2S facility was initiated in 2009 to ensure that customers’ demands were not compromised and maintaining customers’ satisfaction.
“We have been enjoying steady growth in our new vehicles sales – having achieved a record of 765 units in 2010.
“With this increasing trend in vehicle sales, there is also a corresponding demand for after-sales service,” he said.
Rimbunan Hijau Auto Services has invested RM6 million to expand facilities from the 1S sales outlet at Jalan Permaisuri to the 2S facility at Eastwood Industrial Estate.
This substantial investment is a clear testimony of the commitment of Rimbunan Hijau Auto Serrvices Sdn Bhd towards Toyota customers for its after sales services. The 1,322 square metre-facility provides general services, air-cond servicing, wheel alignment and balancing, tyres sales and Toyota body shine services. It can service up to 47 vehicles per day.
With a total of 17 people with various trade skills in the workforce, the new 2S centre is ready to serve the customers and provide an excellent service that Toyota has been known for.
