1,000 SMK Taman Tunku students to receive RM100 aid

MIRI: SMK Taman Tunku here will give out the one-off school assistance of RM100 to its students on Dec 30 at the school premises.

A spokesperson from the school said some 1,000 students will receive
the educational aid from the government.

The school management is calling parents or guardians of the students to come to the school between 2pm and 4pm.

They are reminded that the presence of the students together with their identity cards is a must.

The Education Ministry has started disbursing the RM100 allowance to some 5.5 million students nationwide.

The school aid is given to all primary and secondary students to enable their parents to buy school uniforms, bags, stationeries, etc, before schools start next year.

The education aid, announced during the tabling of Budget 2012 by the Prime Minister involves an allocation of RM550 million.
