MIRI: Assistant Minister of Communication Datuk Lee Kim Shin is looking towards the country, Sarawak in particular,   achieving another successful year.

Lee, who is also Senadin assemblyman, said in his New Year message: “I wish the people a happy and successful year 2012.”

“Let the Year of the Dragon bring us continuous progress, peace and political stability to the country,” he said after closing Miri Open Badminton Tournament yesterday.

He emphasised efforts to strengthen racial unity and said the implementation of the 1Malaysia concept had enhanced the definition of unity through a wider perspective.

In view of that, he called on the people to give their full support to the implementation of the 1Malaysia concept to safeguard multi-racial harmony, unity and equality.

He reminded the people not to spread rumours which could bring political instability.

On the transformation programme, he wanted the people to work closely with the government to ensure the objectives were realised.

He wanted the people, especially the younger generation, to grab the opportunities created under Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) which had been identified as the key to push the transformation of Sarawak into developed economic status by year 2020 and beyond.
