TEMERLOH: Temerloh believe they have crippled a teenage group actively involved in stealing motorcycles in and around Taman Temerloh Jaya, Temerloh Makmur and Taman Bahagia here.

Temerloh Police Chief ACP Mohd Nor Mansor said the group, aged between 15 and 18, were also involved in breaking into houses whenever the tenants were away on holiday.

“The group sold the stolen motorcycles and other products to unknown buyers or kept some for their own use,” he told reporters here yesterday.

Based on information from the public, three teenagers were detained at three separate houses in Taman Temerloh Jaya and Temerloh Makmur on Dec 29, while police are still looking for a 17-year-old, believed to be the mastermind, he said.

Mohd Nor said with the arrest of the three teenagers, police believe three cases involving house break-ins, four motorcycle thefts and a number of gas cylinder cases would be solved.

He said among the loot found were six speakers, two Astro decoders, a digital video player, two motorcycles and five gas cylinders. — Bernama
