KUCHING: The search-and-rescue team was lent an extra ‘hand’ in the form of an excavator to locate the body of missing Upper 6 student Kho Ying Qi when the search entered its fifth day yesterday.

However, it came up ‘empty-handed’ as of press time yesterday.

The excavator was seen scavenging along the river bank near Chung Hua Primary School No.6 in Sungai Maong here at about 2.30pm.

The extra ‘hand’ attracted a crowd of motorists and motorcyclists passing by the area.

Some passersby showed concern while some were curious to know what was going on.

An 18-men team from the Civil Defence Department, divided to two groups in rescue boats,
started their search at 7am yesterday.

They will continue the search until they find Kho’s body.
