POKOK SENA: The Kota Setar police yesterday disposed of 130 computer units modified into gambling machines which were confiscated in Ops Dadu Mesin Judi throughout last year.
Kota Setar Police Chief ACP Adzaman Mohd Jan said the items were disposed off only after being directed by the court.
“There are more computers which have not been disposed of. We are waiting for the court order to get rid of the remaining machines,” he told reporters after dumping the machines at a garbage disposal site in Jabi, near here yesterday.
He said 416 raids were carried out by his personnel in Kota Setar last year which yielded 2,498 modified computers, a 656 per cent increase from the previous year.
In 2010, they held 109 raids and confiscated 381 computer sets modified for gambling purposes, said Adzaman. — Bernama
