Sabah is ranked fourth in ASNB investment

KENINGAU: Sabah is ranked fourth in the country with the largest total investment in Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB), said ASNB senior vice- president (marketing and operations) Mohammad Hussin hereyesterday.

The subscription was 11.27 billion unit trust funds involving more than one million investors, he told the media in conjunction with the opening of its new ASNB branch office here.

Mohammad said the branch office here was expected to boost the participation of the community, especially in the unit trust industry as an instrument in their financial planning.

He said the branch office, its fourth branch in the state and located at Lot 6, Block C, Sedco Shophouse here, had already started operations since December 27, last year.

“The opening of the ASNB branch office here aims to provide facilities such as transactions of ASNB unit trust schemes, a 360-day investment seminar, investment advisory and other services to the local community,” he said.

In conjunction with its opening, Mohammad said ASNB would be presenting hampers to the first 10 investors who open new accounts or make additional investments at the ASNB office here.

Among those present at the opening of ASNB branch office were Tenom member of parliament Datuk Raime Unggi, Liawan people development leader Rosdi Padiman, assistant district development officer Mohd Guntor Datuk Arif, Kapitan Liew Ket Lim, ASNB officials, state and federal government officers and the business community.
