BATU GAJAH: A woman was killed when her car collided with a lorry at the 12.8km Jalan Batu Gajah-Tanjung Tualang here yesterday.
Zaitun Ramli, 35, who worked at the district statistics department, died on the spot in the 12.40pm crash. She sustained head injuries.
A team of firemen from the fire and rescue department had to extricate the body from the badly-wrecked car.
The body was sent to the Batu Gajah Hospital.
The driver of the gas tank-laden lorry sought out-patient treatment at the hospital.
District police chief acting ACP Shahrul Anuar said Zaitun was on her way to Ipoh when the collision occurred. — Bernama
