KUNAK: For the past four days, residents of Kampung Simpang Empat here have been relying on alternative sources of water, including from the river due to a water supply outage in their area.
They said their storage tanks are now running low and some have dried out.

The village’s Rukun Tetangga secretary Ibrahim Tabir said they were in dire need of water and urged the Kunak water authorities to overcome the problem.

He added that the villagers relied solely on water from Sungai Kalumpang treatment.

“Since last year, we’ve been getting the supply, but only at night, even then, it’s only for three hours but we manage to hold on,” he said in a statement.

He added that he had tried to contact the Kunak water office but it was closed for the Chinese New Year. – Bernama
