IPOH: Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah yesterday advised eligible households which failed to get the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) to submit their appeal before Feb 10 for immediate processing.

“They are entitled to appeal because their application could have been rejected due to a technical mistake or other factors,” he told reporters at the Chinese New Year open house for the Tambun parliamentary constituency at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Pei Cheng, Chemor.

Ahmad Husni said the appeal must be made immediately because the government wants to ensure that every eligible household receives the aid.

It has been reported that the Inland Revenue Board has received 4,123,713 application forms and 3,850,668 of them have been entered into the data system for verification.

Some 3,102,054 of the applications have been approved and the applicants will be notified in stages of the date and place where they can collect the cash vouchers.

The Finance Ministry has prepared a special format for appeals which can be downloaded from www.treasury.gov.my or obtained from branch offices of the Inland Revenue Board.

Applicants can check the status of their applications via the 1-800-222-500 or 1-300-88-3010 hotline from Jan 16, 2012, between 9 am and 5 pm on working days. — Bernama
