KANGAR: A 15-year-old female student suffered bruises and vomited after she is believed to have been attacked by a group of female students from the same school over a “Facebook misunderstanding.”
Noor Haidaanis Norizan was admitted to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital at 1am yesterday following injuries she sustained in the 6pm incident Tuesday.
“I was walking home alone near a housing area at the back of the school when they came and attacked me. One of them claimed that I was trying to tempt her boyfriend on Facebook.
“They punched, slapped and kicked me and pulled my hair,” she said at the hospital.
She said several other female students, whom she could not recognise, came to the scene but did nothing to help her.
Noor Haidaanis claimed she had been threatened previously by the group, who she said were dissatisfied with her for having many friends despite being a new student at her school.
Kangar Deputy OCPD DSP Ismail Che Isa confirmed the incident and said that police had received a report lodged by the girl’s mother.
An initial investigation showed that four female students were involved in the attack, he said. — Bernama
