Ordered to read Quran for playing traunt

KOTA BAHARU: Twenty-eight male students in several secondary schools around Kota Baharu detained for truancy yesterday, were ordered to to read the Quran.

Kelantan Education director Hussin Awang said the students were taken to the Mukim Telipot mosque, here, for counselling and ordered to read the Quran under the guidance of the imam, Ahmad Yunus.

The students aged between 15 and 18, were detained in a shopping complex, housing area and surau.

Hussin said the students were released after obtaining their statements and background by the disciplinary teachers and counsellors. — Bernama
