J Spring Fashion Show on March 19 at Petronas Twin Tower

KUALA LUMPUR: A STUNNING cake dress will appear in the first ever fashion show to be held in the world’s tallest Petronas Twin Towers’ SkyBridge.

The extraordinary creation will be worn by model and global fashion show organiser, Jessica Minh Anh, on March 19, 2012 at the J Model Management’s Spring Fashion Show.

The most anticipated dress will be the product of a worldwide competition to find the perfect design.

The judging panel consists of British fashion leader Paul Costelloe, Italian fashion photographer Thomas Woland, and Dutch celebrity designer Addy van den Krommenacker. They are looking for an unconventional design that reflects the artistic yet realistic lifestyle of the new generation.

The winner will have their black and white drawing turned into a masterpiece by Allan Yap from Malaysian bakery ‘Just Heavenly’.

Allan Yap stated “Red will be the predominant colour to show off the confidence and beauty of the multi-talented Jessica Minh Anh”.  She will be walking 100 metres in the dress wearing 20-cm high heels.

At the height of 175 metres above street level, the landmark bridge will be transformed into a 58 metre long catwalk on which the cake dress and a further 10 other collections by top designers from 5 continents will be showcased.

“It’s all about breaking boundaries with new creative concepts. We can’t reveal the styling until the day of the show but it will be something you’ve never seen before” said Hannah Low from L’Oreal Professionnel, the official salon partner.

Other J Spring Fashion Show partners include Shu Uemura, Citroën Malaysia, Orange Events, Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Celebrity Fitness, NTV7 and 8TV.

The exclusive guest list includes country ambassadors, brand managers, fashion designers, and the international press.

They will be brought to level 42 of the futuristic mega structure by the high speed elevator system travelling at 6 metres per second.

After the red carpet entrance, guests will be seated on both sides of the Skybridge, leaving the grand catwalk in between. Each model will be walking a total of 5 km during the 1 ½ hour show.

This show is part of a series of 4 high end fashion shows at the world’s most outstanding venues in 2012 hosted by J Model Management.

After making history with the international success of J Autumn Fashion Show on England’s iconic Tower Bridge last October, the young director Jessica Minh Anh is believed to have declared a major step-up.

“Many people have asked me if bridges are my thing,” smiled Jessica.

“I say I’ll host the show wherever my imagination takes me. You gotta dream big!”
