Strong earthquake hits Honshu Island

KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, hit the Honshu Island region today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department reported.

The epicentre of the quake, which occurred at 2.21pm, was near the east coast of Honshu, 119km southeast of Mito, Japan and 4,131km northeast of Kudat, Sabah, it said in a Add Newstatement.
