KUALA TERENGGANU: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) hopes that the government will give attention to senior civil servants in the implementation of Grade 17 under the New Public Service Remuneration Scheme (SBPA).
CUEPACS deputy president Azih Muda said they proposed for those affected to be promoted a grade higher as recognition for the group.

He said the matter should be studied to consider the duration of their service and recognise any skills and technical certificates for promotion to Grade 21.

“What we see now is only one promotion for those who have served the government up to 30 or 35 years, which is the same as a promotion for a new civil servant or those who have served four or five years.

“Under the SBPA now, civil servants with a certificate are given a promotion to Grade T8. However, the seniors don’t have this chance as they haven’t been recognised…but they have the same certificate,” he told reporters at a briefing session with the Terengganu Fisheries Department Employees Union, here Sunday. –Bernama
