MELAKA: Comfort Plus Sdn Bhd, the developer of 348 apartment units under the Public Housing Programme in Sungai Putat, Batu Berendam, will provide comfortable facilities for the occupants.

Project director Datuk Yusni Meon said the project on a 10.64-ha site next to Sungai Putat that commenced in April 2010 was 90 percent completed.

It comprises six blocks with each three-bedroom one-bathroom unit measuring 65.03 sq m. It costs RM35,000 each after government subsidy.

“The Melaka Housing Board handles the sales to eligible individuals and the response was very encouraging as the
units had been fully sold out,” Yusni told Bernama here yesterday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is expected to hand over the delivery documents to the occupants during his visit to Melaka on Friday.

Yusni said this project was the first under the Public Housing Programme under the design-and-buid concept and the first to have units with special specifications for the disabled.

It has four units for the disabled and eight units that can be used as shops.

The project also has a hall, surau and other facilities that are expected to be ready in
June.

“I hope projects under the programme will continue statewide whether in Melaka Tengah or other districts like Alor Gajah and Jasin, and I hope this housing programme will benefit the occupants as well as us the developer,” Yusni said. — Bernama
