‘We do not accept sacked party members’

KUCHING: Former Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth secretary Wejok Tomik will be disappointed if he wishes to rejoin the party.

PBB Bengoh branch secretary Jeguk Ngamo asserted that the party would not accept members who had been sacked.

Wejok left the party to contest as an independent in Bengoh seat in last year’s state election, and yesterday he said the rumour about him wanting to come back was unfounded.

It was also rumoured that Wejok had written an apology letter to the party and indicated his willingness to come back to the party, on condition he be nominated to replace incumbent Mambong MP Datuk James Dawos Mamit

“No way will we (party) accept any party members who were sacked because we want discipline in the party,” Jeguk said yesterday.

He pointed out that Wejok was already sacked from the party, adding that he was among those who wrote the dismissal letter.

Jeguk explained that Wejok’s name was not on the list when the party branch held a meeting on Jan 28 this year chaired by Dawos, when the party approved 110 new members.

Jeguk said there were many capable candidates to replace Dawos in the event that the MP was not renominated to contest in the coming general polls.
