Thieves flee after crashing stolen car

KUCHING: Two men ran away from a Perodua Alza after crashing it into a road divider at Mile 7 here around 1am yesterday.

A member of the public who witnessed the accident said the two injured car thieves told the public the car had been stolen.

Police rushed to the scene on being informed. They checked the vehicle but no one had reported it missing so brought it to the police station.

Then at about 10am yesterday, a report was made by a medical staff of a clinic in Kota Sentosa that his Perodua Alza had been stolen after thieves broke into his hostel in Stakan.

Police found the missing car was the stolen Perodua Alza. The owner suspected that the thieves had entered his house after breaking the window downstairs. They took the car key from the living room before driving it away.

His wife’s handbag containing RM100 plus and some personal documents were also missing.

Police are investigating.
