KUCHING: Forty-nine new cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) were reported today in Sarawak, raising the overall figure to 3,648 so far.
Sarawak Health director Dr Zulkifli Jantan said in a statement today the new cases were 10 more than yesterday, with Kuching recording 17 cases followed by Bintulu (nine), Sri Aman (five), Samarahan and Sibu (four each), Miri (three), Sarikei, Kapit and Betong (two each) and Limbang (one).
He said 11 new admissions were also reported, bringing to 283 the total number of warded HFMD patients so far. None of the new cases was serious, he added. – Bernama
