Thorough police probe into student bully case

KOTA KINABALU: Police are carrying out a thorough investigation into the case where a Form Three student was allegedly bullied by his school mates last Friday.

City police chief ACP Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said an investigation had been carried out into the case after police received a report lodged by the alleged victim parents.

The 15-year-old boy not only suffered injuries to his face, mouth, nose and knees, but was also traumatized after the alleged bully by his school mates on March 23.

It is said that the victim was attacked by his assailants when he refused to take up a challenge by one of his attackers.

The boy managed to escape from the attack with the help of his friend who was at the scene.

According to the boy, no action has been taken against the student, who is a bully and who has various disciplinary problems.

It is also learnt that the victim refused to attend school for fear of his safety as he claimed that the bully has gangster friends outside the school.

The victim will be taking the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) this year.
