Bingkor PBS says ready to face election

KENINGAU: Bingkor Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) chief Peter Jino Alliun said the party was ready to face the general election anytime.

“Bingkor PBS election machinery is ready for the coming 13th general election,” he said in his speech at the meet-the-people session for eight villages at Kampung Bingkor Lama multi-purpose hall here on Saturday.

“The spirit of cooperation among BN component leaders and members in this area is very good,” he said.

He said PBS had always supported whoever the BN chose as its candidate to contest in Bingkor to ensure victory for BN.

“I ask the people in Bingkor to give full support to the selected BN candidate, including Deputy Chief Minister and Infrastructure Development Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan,” he said.

Peter said the people in Bingkor still needed the services and leadership of Pairin as the Keningau BN chairman and member of parliament.

In another development, he urged the government to speed up financial allocation to projects that had been promised to the people in the area.

“Projects that are approved needed to be implemented as soon as possible so that they would not become political issues, especially in the coming general election,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bingkor assemblyman Datuk Justin Guka, who also spoke at the ceremony, urged the people to continue to support the struggle of the BN government led by Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Datuk Seri Musa Aman.

“The rural people should support the government that can bring change and development and which would guarantee them a better life,” he said.

Justin, who is also Keningau UPKO chief, said only the BN government could help the people, especially in terms of infrastructure development and other assistance that could lighten their burden.
