KUCHING: Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) is erecting three transmission lines to cater to the needs of three major firms operating in Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) area.

SEB chief executive officer Torstein Dale said the lines, which would be ready by next year, were meant for AML Minerals Limited, Tokuyama Corporation, and OM Materials.

“The 132kv transmission lines cost between RM3 million and RM5 million, while the 275kv one costs between RM13 million and RM20 million,” he said when met by reporters at the sideline of a function here yesterday.

Torstein added that all three transmission lines would be linked from Samalaju substation direct to the factories.

“We expect the lines to power up the factories by the third quarter of next year.”

As for the SEB transmission line for Press Metal Bhd factory, he said it was completed on March 29 this year, and was currently undergoing final-stage checking.
