MCA vice chairman dies of suspected heart attack

TUARAN: An MCA vice chairman died of a suspected heart attack while having breakfast at Tuaran town yesterday.

Tuaran MCA vice chairman Teo Kong Kian, 56, died at the Tuaran District Hospital just hours after he collapsed while having breakfast with friends at a coffee shop here about 10am.

It is believed that prior to the incident, Teo was having breakfast with friends when he faced breathing difficulty, and collapsed around 9am.

Friends immediately rushed Teo to hospital but he was pronounced dead around 10am.

District police chief DSP Zaharudin Rasip who confirmed the case said the deceased’s body had been taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem.

Zaharudin said police have dismissed any foul play and have classified the case as sudden death.
