GEORGE TOWN: Twelve non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the state have made 46 reports requesting the police to investigate demonstrators protesting against the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) last Saturday.

A spokesman representing the 12 NGOs, Mohamad Noor Suhaili said the action of the participants in the assembly had offended the feelings of many parties as the protesters gave extremely provocative statements and acts.

“In principle, we are not interested in intefering into the affairs of a small group of undergraduates who were influenced by certain parties.

“But when they made such insolent remarks against the Prime Minister and the Higher Education Minister, we cannot just keep quiet,” he told reporters here yesterday.

All police reports were made simultaneously at the Penang police headquarters at the Northeast and Southwest districts, eastern, northern and southern Seberang Perai Police headquarters yesterday. — Bernama
