PORT DICKSON: Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has described Perak PAS deputy commissioner Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin’s allegation that the prime minister held a meeting with military chiefs and requested them to do something should Barisan Nasional (BN) lose in the 13th general election as a daydream.

He said the allegation was baseless and a lie.

“What has been alleged by Datuk Seri Nizar is something that has never been done by the Malaysian Armed Forces.

“The prime minister also did not call any of our armed forces chiefs purportedly asking them to take over …..It has never crossed our mind,” he told reporters, here, yesterday.

He was met after a key handing-over ceremony for the Army Town project at the Army Training Centre (PUSASDA) here.

At the ceremony, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan presented a symbolic key for the project to Ahmad Zahid who later handed over the key to Army chief, General Datuk Zulkifli Zainal Abidin. — Bernama
