No Chinese rep in government if BN loses

Sibu, LanangSIBU: The Chinese would lose their representation in the government if the Barisan Nasional is defeated in Sibu and Lanang constituencies in the forthcoming general election.

State BN Youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof said this would be the risk the community would be up against should the opposition retain Sibu and gain a foothold in Lanang.

“It will be a loss to the Chinese community because they will have no representative in the government and I believe that BN will still form the government,” he told reporters at the ‘Armada Pemuda PBB’ gathering here yesterday.

Fadillah, who is also Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, was optimistic that BN would perform better this time than it did in the last general election.

He mentioned that the Prime Minister had implemented various transformation programmes to push the country forward and make Malaysia a high income economy.

On a related matter, he said that it had always been PBB’s culture to fight (election) based on BN policies.

Citing the armada programme, he said they had to go to every place including those that were not PBB areas.

“We are mobilising our members to assist other BN component parties. In areas not represented by PBB, we abide by whatever strategies and instructions implemented by the (component) party representing the BN there.”

In his speech earlier, Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee too called on the people to ensure that Lanang was retained and Sibu wrested by the BN in the coming polls.

The armada programme started from Kuching on Tuesday and had gone to Kota Samarahan, Mambong, Sri Aman, Debak, Maradong and to Sibu yesterday.
